There have been some discussion on the Retail Charity Bond programme on this forum in the past. If members of the forum have interest, I am giving a webinar on PIworld next Wed ( 1st July) at 12.00. You would be welcome to join. Registration is here: https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/6081305762505979915
Ego Barrier > And because our need to be right can be more important than our need to find out what's true, we like to believe our own opinions without properly stress-testing them. We especially don't like to look at our mistakes and weaknesses. We are instinctively prone to react to explorations of them as though they're attacks. We get angry, even though it would be more logical for us to be open to feedback from others. This leads to our making inferior decisions, learning less, and falling short of our potentials - https://www.principles.com/principles-for-success
Blindspot Barrier > The second is the blind spot barrier. Everyone has blind spots. The blind spot barrier is when a person believes he or she can see everything. But it's a simple fact that no one alone can see a complete picture of reality. Naturally, people can't appreciate what they can't see, just as we all have different ranges for singing, hearing pitch and seeing colours, we have different ranges for seeing and understanding things - https://www.principles.com/principles-for-success
Don't tell > There are no shortage of forum chats around that I have never visited where you can post your material safely ; )
he'll be along in a minute > There are no shortage of webinars that I don't have time to join, new customer acquisition is really hard, that's why Mark is out here advertising, and in any case you can post a recording like the previous webinar -
And yeah, Chimpanzee and Gorilla are different sub-species, in fact Chimpanzee are closer to Humans than to Gorillas, Gorillas split off 8 million years ago, while Chimps and Bonobos continued with Humans for another 2 million years -
Re: Charity Bonds Earlier this year, I had to select some Ethical investments.
The only such bond I had, was the Places For People 4.025 2023.
I had long wanted something more bondlike, probably housing related: I live near some buildings marked the "4% Industrial Dwellings Company" built 1903, and others also inspired by the early social housing pioneer Octavia Hill. I looked for similar bonds, did not find any.
So, I resorted to Funds, specifically L&G Ethical I Acc, Threadneedle UK Social Acc, & Kames Ethical Equity Acc.
Did anyone see Mark Glowrey's talk? Unfortunately I had a family errand and could not attend the Webinar. The webinar link was for streaming only so there does not appear to be a recap option.
I missed it too but I think it was done for pi world. They usually add videos on Thursday (and a podcast version at the same time). Worth checking there tomorrow:- www.piworld.co.uk/
I watched it. Interesting enough but little if any news. From memory he said a total of £280m raised so far which may double in the next few years as he expects a steady stream of new issues perhaps with some refinancing, he mentioned MCAP in this context. They guess about 1,000 individual holders.

I didn't get time to watch that either, as you can imagine, I also only have 24 hours in a day, instead I was allocating time for this -
